Oxfam Charity Blatantly Violates U.S. Antiboycott Laws by Firing Spokeswoman For Endorsing Israeli Product - Code Pink Joins In - Boycott Watch To File Complaint with U.S. Department of Commerce, IRS.

One of America's greatest news analysts, and I am not just saying this because she is a friend, is Debbie Schlussel who is always on top of the news, getting to the bottom of important stories. Today, Ms. Schlussel had some very keen observations about a report in the New York Post about "SEX and the City" star Kristin Davis losing her job as the spokesperson for Oxfam International, a charity which Ms. Schlussel also documented with links to Anne Lieberman of Boker Tov, Boulder, detailing Oxfam's links to terrorist organizations and the illegal Arab boycott of Israeli goods.

Ms. Schlussel linked the firing of Ms. Davis directly to also becoming the spokeswoman for Ahava, an Israeli company, thus how Ms. Davis suddenly became a pariah to Oxfam. Boycott Watch has made the observation that firing Ms. Davis for her working for Ahava is a direct violation of U.S. Antiboycott laws.

According to U.S. Law, and it does not take a lawyer to figure this out which is good because we at Boycott Watch are not lawyers, no U.S. persons may take part in foreign sanction boycotts of nations friendly to the U.S., not can any individual or company be required to participate in the boycott for business or employment, yet that is exactly what happened here - Oxfam America has offices in both Boston, Massachusetts and Washington, D.C., thus completing the requirement of U.S. Persons. Additionally, Ms. Davis was fired specifically because she endorsed an Israeli product, making the firing of Ms. Davis by Oxfam a direct and blatant violation of U.S. Antiboycott Laws.

Meanwhile, left-wing political group Code Pink has also called for a boycott of Ahava products, presumably related to the fact that one of their idols, Ms. Davis, has left their political camp and is now the spokeswoman for an Israeli product. Code Pink founder Cindy Sheehan and other Code Pink leaders have been seen wearing the Kafiyah, or Arab headdress which is worn in the U.S. as a symbol of support for Palestinians and the Palestinian Authority which is signatory to the Arab boycott of Israel, which continues to wage economic warfare even when claiming to negotiate for peace with Israel in good faith, thus a direct connection of the Code Pink boycott to the Oxfam incident.

Boycott Watch is calling for an immediate investigation by the Office of Antiboycott Compliance of the Bureau of Industry and Security under the U.S. Department of Commerce. "This blatant violation of U.S. law is one more step in the furtherance of the Arab boycott of Israel in the United States as part of the Divest-from-Israel campaign for which Boycott Watch research proved is directly tied to Palestinian Authority, specifically designed to wage economic warfare against Israel" said Boycott Watch President Fred Taub. "These actions also include Internal Revenue Service code violations. Boycott Watch will therefore also be seeking an IRS investigation into possible overstepping tax related laws pertaining to violations of U.S. Antiboycott laws."
